Five types of personal letters are:

1. Family letter: Written to family members, the purpose is to share recent news among them.

Ada lima bagian dari surat pada umumnya, yakni:

1. The heading => Heading can include your address and the date. For informal or casual letters, usually your address is not necessary.
2. The salutation (greeting) => Usually this starts with Dear_______ or Hi_______ depending how formal or how close you are with the recipient. The blank is for the person you are writing.
3. The body => Body of the letter contains the information you are writing in your letter.
4. The closing => Complimentary closing is last sentence before you are ending the letter. Some examples are: Sincerely, Your friend, Love, Very truly yours,
5. Your signature => Your name, under the complimentary closing
