    Berdasarkan contoh, soal tersebut menggunakan degrees of comparison. Degrees of comparison digunakan untuk menyatakan perbandingan suatu hal dengan hal yang lain.

    Degrees of conparison terbagi atas 3, yaitu:

    - Positive degree

    - Comparative degree

    - Superlative degree


    Karen soal diatas menggunakan comparative degree saja, maka kakak hanya akan menjelaskan mengenai comparative degree.

    Comparative degree digunakan untuk menyatakan bahwa keadaan suatu hal lebih daripada hal lainnya.

    Struktur kalimat:

    Noun + to be (am/is/are) + comparative adjective + than + Noun

    Contoh kalimat:

    - Siti is taller than me

    (trans: Siti lebih tinggi daripada aku)

    1. According to Edo, the cotton bag is better than the plastic bag.

    2. According to Dayu, Fatima is better in English than in Math.

    3. According to Udin, his father’s shoes are better than his shoes.

    4. According to Siti, a plain T-shirt is better than a T-shirt with a

    picture on it.

    5. According to Lina, her mother‘s hand-writing is better and

    clearer than hers.
